Kathleen Fugelsang graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland and received her B.A, Magna Cum Laude. She obtained a M.S.W. from Virginia Commonwealth University and a J.D. from The University of Richmond School of Law in 1985. Ms. Fugelsang began her career in medical malpractice defense law at Fumuso, Kelly, Swart, Farrell, Polin & Christesen, LLP, in 1986. She focused her practice on representing doctors, podiatrists, and hospitals in complex medical malpractice cases.

In 1995 Ms. Fugelsang worked for Lawrence, Worden, Rainis & Bard PC and became a Partner in 1997. There she worked on general liability, construction accidents and medical malpractice cases. In 2018 Ms. Fugelsang worked at Vardaro & Associates, LLP defending doctors and hospitals.

In 2022 she joined Ellenberg, Gannon, Henninger and Fitzmaurice as a Partner, handling all aspects of case management from inception up to trial. This includes complex medical litigation in all specialty fields, representing physicians, hospitals, nurses, physician assistants and other health care professionals. 

Ms. Fugelsang is licensed to practice law in New York and is admitted to the U.S. District Courts, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York State; The United States Court of Claims; The United States Court of Appeals; The United States Court of Military Appeals and The Supreme Court of the United States.
